Downunder Web Services is a small Australian team building custom websites and platforms. We deliberately stay small, so every build gets proper attention and every client reaches the people who actually do the work.

We've been designing, building and looking after websites and servers since the early 2000s. The web has reinvented itself many times over since then, and we've stayed on the bleeding edge through every shift - adopting the tools and techniques that genuinely make sites faster, safer and better, and leaving the hype that doesn't.
We're a small team, and we like it that way. When you have a question or something needs fixing, you reach the people who actually build and run your site - we answer every support ticket ourselves. No call centres, no offshore queue, no account manager relaying messages back and forth.
Most of all, we care that businesses and organisations get the right information. The web is full of platforms designed to make you spend more money than you need to, on subscriptions, add-ons and lock-in. We're here to cut through that and build you something you own, that does exactly what you need and nothing you don't.

No templates
If a template worked for your business, you wouldn't be here. We build every site from scratch - for your shape, your customers, your tools.

Performance is design
A fast site is a respectful one. We target Lighthouse 95+ on every project. We don't ship 5MB of JS to deliver a paragraph of text.

No platform tax
We don't lock you into subscriptions, add-ons and per-sale cuts designed to bleed you over time. You pay for the build and modest hosting, then the thing is yours.

AU-hosted, full stop
Your data, your customers, your latency - kept here on Australian NVMe metal, in the city closest to the people you serve. We host every site ourselves.

You own it
The code, domain, data, Stripe account and S3 bucket are all in your name. We host it on our AU fleet and look after it properly - your asset, fully documented, never a black box.

Plain language
We don't say 'leverage', 'synergy', or 'pixel-perfect'. We explain trade-offs in words you can repeat to your board, your bank, or your nan.

Senior hands only
The person on your proposal is the person doing the work. No bait-and-switch to a junior offshore team after you sign.

We stay deliberately small and take on a limited number of projects at a time, so each one gets proper attention. If we're not the right shop, we'll say so.
